“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
William Morris 1834-1896
Chiavassa Design Sustainable Products was founded in 2009 with a design philosophy based on sustainability and ecology.
By recovering and reclaiming materials, and often in cooperation with artists, carpenters, and other actors within the design scene, I visualize, project and build products always generating a harmonious relationship between sustainability and the customers’ wishes.
My passion and artistry concern not only design but also the manual production and craftsmanship that entail the whole design process.
One of the special features of my creations is the “HandDesign” – products mostly handmade by myself in local workshops. By doing this, I support the revival of the Arts&Crafts Movement. In fact, I am a so-called Old School Designer, as I love drawing with the pencil on paper giving life to my ideas and designing new objects with traditional techniques and manual skills.
In 2014 I discovered Permaculture and started to combine my creative and manual skills with permaculture structures and natural building projects. After having completed the first Permaculture Design Course in Italy, I am currently developing projects for the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.
Regarding my academic background, I graduated in Industrial Design from the National University of Córdoba in Argentina with my thesis entitled “Portable Office”. During my studies I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Design courses at the university. Alongside I worked with several companies as an artist, designer, packaging designer, industrial designer, coordinator and production executive.
